Issue: Sometimes an icon overlay does not display in scenarios where a status icon should display. The following table indicates the status that each of the icon overlays represent:
Status | Icon |
Checked out by me | ![]() |
Checked out by another user | ![]() |
Sync pending | ![]() |
Sync error | ![]() |
Declared record | ![]() |
Resolution: Refresh the directory manually by pressing F5.
If this doesn't work, note that Windows can only load a limited number of overlay images. If other applications also use them, all available images may be in use. If this is the case, the Check Out icon will not display despite refreshing the directory. To prevent this, or to free up other images, you can disable overlay images in other applications or uninstall other applications that use them. This issue is applicable to all versions of Windows and is well documented in the Windows Shell API documentation.
