How can I hide metadata fields?

This article applies to:
7.x Briefcase for Windows, Email Manager for Outlook
6.x Briefcase for Windows, Contributor Pro, Email Manager for Outlook

To hide certain metadata fields so that they cannot be viewed or edited by end users, you can use one of the following options:

  • Configure the content type column in SharePoint by setting a column to hidden. This is done in the SharePoint UI.
  • Set showineditform to FALSE (requires code or PowerShell); for more information, see here.

NOTE: these changes affect the SharePoint view as well. To make changes to the metadata fields that only affect Colligo products, see the configuration setting here.
