Why are my Office properties not synchronizing properly?

Issue: When a user uploads a new document to the server through Contributor Pro, the custom properties are correct on the server, but not locally in Contributor Pro. This is because Contributor Pro relies on the version timestamp provided by SharePoint for determining whether a document has changed on the server and needs to be downloaded to the client.

When a document is added to a SharePoint library, SharePoint syncs the library metadata and custom properties of the document, and as a result, changes the document slightly. But SharePoint does not change the version timestamp. When Contributor Pro uploads the document, it does not download this new version with the custom properties applied. However, the metadata in Contributor Pro is up-to-date, so the user has full access to the correct document and metadata. But the custom properties in the local document are not up-to-date.

This presents a problem for users who wish to email documents from Contributor Pro and need the properties to be up to date.

Resolution: Users wishing to email documents with up-to-date embedded office properties should download them from the browser, rather than from Contributor Pro.
