How can I resolve a synchronization conflict?

Error Message: The item has been modified both locally and on the server.

Cause: Changes have been made to the document locally and on the server. The product cannot decide which version to keep and generates this issue.

Resolution:

  • You can resolve conflict errors in the Resolve Synchronization Conflict dialog. Open the dialog by double-clicking on the issue in the Sync Issues panel in Engage. You can review the two versions and choose which one to keep.
  • Microsoft Word documents can be merged using the compare and merge wizard. Start the wizard by clicking the Merge button at the bottom of the Resolve Synchronization Conflict dialog.
