How do I resolve a file blocked issue?

This article applies to:
 Briefcase for Windows, Email Manager for Outlook

Message: Files with this extension are blocked from being uploaded to the SharePoint site.  You can delete or rename the file, or contact your site administrator to enable files with this extension.

Cause: By default, several standard file extensions are blocked, including any file extensions that are treated as executable files by Windows Explorer. Files with curly braces { or } are also blocked automatically.

The file extensions blocked by default are: ade, adp, app, bas, bat, chm, class, cmd, com, cpl, crt, dll, exe, fxp, hlp, hta, ins, isp, jse, lnk, mda, mdb, mde, mdt, mdw, mdz, msc, msi, msp, mst, ops, pcd, pif, prf, prg, reg, scf, scr, sct, shb, shs, url, vb, vbe, vbs, wsc, wsf, wsh

Resolution: Delete the file.
