How do I Change the Outlook IE Browser Emulation Version?

This article applies to the following:
7.x Email Manager for Outlook
6.x
Email Manager for Outlook

Email Manager for Outlook uses the installed version of IE and uses that to emulate IE9 within Outlook. In 6.1 we can change these emulation versions; however, the installed version of IE may give different results.

To alter the browser emulation version (ensure Outlook is fully closed):

  1. In the Registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Colligo > Contributor > Email Manager, create a new String called OutlookWebBrowserEmulationMode and assign it a value of "0".
For more information about this setting,
This ensures Email Manager reads the emulation setting from this registry key.
  2. In the Registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft >Internet Explorer > Main > FeatureControl > FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION, delete the OUTLOOK.EXE string key.
This prevents the Outlook emulation from defaulting to IE9, as this key is recreated with the Email Manager defined value when Outlook loads.
  3. In the Registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Colligo > Contributor > Email Manager, edit the String key called OutlookWebBrowserEmulationMode and assign it a decimal value of "7000".
    Note: 7000 emulates IE7, 8000 emulates IE8, 10000 emulates IE10, 11000 emulates IE11
This loads the value into the Outlook registry key that is created upon load.
